North Carolina High School Football - New Bern can't hold off Northern Guilford

August 30, 2024: Greensboro, NC 27455

Northern Guilford Nighthawks (Greensboro, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC), 28-27 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Northern Guilford improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Nighthawks host Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. The Eagles go into the battle with a record of 0-2. Eastern Alamance lost 21-19 in their recent non-league battle against Southeast Alamance (Haw River, NC)

The Bears now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they host West Craven for a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. New Bern will play a Eagles team coming off a 34-29 non-league win over East Duplin (Beulaville, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 2-0.
