Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Spurger Pirates (Spurger, TX) and the host Bob Hope Eagles (Port Arthur, TX), observed Spurger's volleyball team top Bob Hope by a tally of 3-1.

The Pirates (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Onalaska (Onalaska, TX). The Wildcats enter the non-league contest with a 5-16 record. In their last contest, Onalaska was beaten by Shelbyville (Shelbyville, TX), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Eagles meet the Legacy Christian Academy Warriors (Beaumont, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 3. Bob Hope will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record.
