In Saturday's non-league outing, the host Athens Wildcats soccer squad scored a tight 2-0 win over the Elk Lake Warriors.

The Wildcats (2-0) will now prepare for their outing against Wellsboro (Wellsboro, PA). The Hornets enter the PIAA District IV-AA outing with a 3-0 record. In their last outing, Wellsboro tipped South Williamsport (South Williamsport, PA), 2-1, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Warriors confront the Holy Cross Crusaders (Dunmore, PA) in a Lackawanna - Division III outing, on Tuesday, September 2. Elk Lake will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Crusaders enter the outing with a 2-3 record after their 6-4 non-league win over Gregory The Great Academy (Elmhurst Township, PA).
