The New Franklin Bulldogs edged the visiting Clinton Cardinals softball squad by a count of 8-7 in Saturday's non-league battle.
The Bulldogs now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Slater for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 4. New Franklin will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 15-0 league loss to Glasgow (Glasgow, MO). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.
With the loss, Clinton moves to 1-2 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Fulton (Fulton, MO) to confront the Hornets in a non-league battle on Saturday, August 30. The Hornets come into the battle with a record of 0-0.
