Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Ballard Bombers (Huxley, IA) and the host West Liberty Comets (West Liberty, IA), observed Ballard's volleyball team top West Liberty by a tally of 2-0.

The Bombers (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Carlisle (Carlisle, IA). The Wildcats go into the non-league test with a 3-7 record. In their last test, Carlisle was defeated by Grinnell (Grinnell, IA), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Comets now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clear Creek-Amana for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 2. West Liberty will face a Clippers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Decorah-North Winneshiek (Decorah, IA). The Clippers record now stands at 4-1.
