The Wildcats go into the battle with a record of 3-1. Salem lost 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Okawville (Okawville, IL)

Next, the Lancers meet the East St. Louis Flyers (East St. Louis, IL) in a Southwestern challenge, on Tuesday, September 2. Belleville East will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Flyers enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Quincy (Quincy, IL).
