In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Bryson Cowboys volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Vernon Lions.

The Cowboys (10-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TX). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 9-12 record. In their last challenge, Sweetwater was nudged by Archer City (Archer City, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the Childress Bobcats (Childress, TX) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, September 2. Vernon will attempt to advance on its 3-9 season record. The Bobcats go into the test with a 4-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Collinsville (Collinsville, TX).
