Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Pinckneyville Panthers (Pinckneyville, IL) and the visiting Massac County Patriots (Metropolis, IL), observed Pinckneyville's volleyball team hold off Massac County by a count of 2-1.

The Panthers (5-0) will now prepare for their contest against Jackson (Jackson, MO). The Fighting Indians go into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.

The Patriots now own a 5-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Edwards County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. Massac County will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL). The Lions record now stands at 1-0.
