In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Merced Bears volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Smith Valley Bulldogs.

The Bears (2-5) will now prepare for their challenge against University Prep (Redding, CA). The Panthers enter the non-league challenge with a 7-2 record. In their last challenge, University Prep beat Shasta (Redding, CA), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Churchill County Greenwave (Fallon, NV) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, August 30. Smith Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Greenwave enter the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Rocky Mountain (Meridian, ID).
