Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the West Salem Panthers (West Salem, WI) and the visiting Newman Fighting Cardinals (Wausau, WI), observed West Salem's volleyball team top Newman by a tally of 2-0.

The Panthers (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Viroqua (Viroqua, WI). The Blackhawks enter the Coulee contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Viroqua was beaten by Shiocton (Shiocton, WI), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Fighting Cardinals meet the Wausau West Warriors (Wausau, WI) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 2. Newman will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Warriors go into the test with a 1-5 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Mukwonago (Mukwonago, WI).
