Rivera Raiders (Brownsville, TX) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Raiders (16-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Lopez (Brownsville, TX). The Lobos come into the 5A Region IV District 32 challenge with a 13-4 record. In their last challenge, Lopez was beaten by Jones (Beeville, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Lobos meet the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Tuesday, September 2. Palmview will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 7-11 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX).
