The Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS) football defeated the visiting Heidelberg Oilers (Heidelberg, MS), 20-6 in Thursday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Panthers face the Harrison Central Red Rebels (Gulfport, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 8. Quitman will attempt to advance on its 2-0 season record. The Red Rebels enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 21-12 non-league win over Ridgeland (Ridgeland, MS).
