North Carolina High School Football - Mallard Creek topped by Weddington

The Mallard Creek Mavericks football team (Charlotte, NC), was beaten 14-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC)

The Warriors (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Butler was beaten by Hough (Cornelius, NC), 24-14, in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Charlotte for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 13. Mallard Creek will meet a Lions team coming off a 36-14 non-league win over Independence (Charlotte, NC). The Lions record now stands at 2-0.
