The Mountainside Mavericks volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Newberg Tigers to 0 in the Mavericks non-league victory on Thursday.
The Mavericks now have a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sunset for a 6A Metro game on Tuesday, September 5. Mountainside will meet a Apollos team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Glencoe (Hillsboro, OR). The Apollos record now stands at 5-0.
The Tigers (1-4) will now prepare for their game against McMinnville (McMinnville, OR). The Grizzlies enter the 6A Pacific game with a 4-2 record. In their last game, McMinnville gained a win over Aloha (Beaverton, OR), 3-0, in a non-league game.
