The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars (Zumbrota, MN) and the host Pine Island Panthers (Pine Island, MN), saw Zumbrota-Mazeppa's volleyball squad beat Pine Island by a tally of 3-1.
With the win, Zumbrota-Mazeppa upgrades its record to 2-0 on the year. The Cougars host Fillmore Central (Harmony, MN) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 5. The Falcons go into the bout with a record of 3-0. Fillmore Central won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Rushford-Peterson (Rushford, MN)
The Panthers now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Cotter for a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 5. Pine Island will play a Ramblers squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to McDonell Central (Chippewa Falls, WI). The Ramblers record now stands at 4-3.
