The Russell County Lakers volleyball team scored 2 points and limited the visiting Pulaski County Maroons to 1 in the Lakers non-league victory on Thursday.

The Lakers now possess a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Boyle County for a non-league game on Saturday, September 2. Russell County will meet a Rebels team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Mercer County (Harrodsburg, KY). The Rebels record now stands at 9-7.

The Maroons (3-4) will now prepare for their game against Garrard County (Lancaster, KY). The Golden Lions enter the non-league game with a 6-6 record. In their last game, Garrard County nipped Danville Christian Academy (Danville, KY), 3-1, in a league game.
