The Mayfield Wildcats got by the visiting Elyria Catholic Panthers football team by a score of 30-24 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Wildcats play the Nordonia Knights (Macedonia, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 7. Mayfield will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Knights go into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 40-35 non-league loss to Berea-Midpark (Berea, OH).
The Panthers (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Midview (Grafton, OH). The Middies go into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Midview nipped North Olmsted (North Olmsted, OH), 34-12, in a non-league challenge.
