Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA) and the visiting South Williamsport Mountaineers (South Williamsport, PA), saw Wellsboro's soccer squad triumph over South Williamsport by a count of 5-0.

The Hornets (3-0) will now prepare for their battle against Athens (Athens, PA). The Wildcats enter the PIAA District IV-AAA battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Athens was overwhelmed by Montoursville (Montoursville, PA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Mountaineers battle the Benton Tigers (Benton, PA) in a Mid-Penn D4 battle, on Wednesday, September 4. South Williamsport will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 1-1 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Warrior Run (Turbotville, PA).
