Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Smith County Owls (Carthage, TN) and the host DeKalb County Tigers (Smithville, TN), observed Smith County's volleyball team top DeKalb County by a count of 2-0.

The Owls (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against East Robertson (Cross Plains, TN). The Indians enter the A District 8 contest with a 11-0 record. In their last contest, East Robertson notched a victory over Jo Byrns (Cedar Hill, TN), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Tigers battle the Monterey Wildcats (Monterey, TN) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, August 31. DeKalb County will attempt to move on its 0-6 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 6-3 record after their 3-1 league win over Jackson County (Gainesboro, TN).
