Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Fannin County Rebels (Blue Ridge, GA), 10-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dalton for a non-league challenge on Friday, August 12. Gilmer will battle a Catamounts squad coming off a 15-6 non-league win over Murray County (Chatsworth, GA). The Catamounts record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Fannin County falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rebels host North Murray (Chatsworth, GA) to battle the Mountaineers in a 2A Area 7 challenge on Thursday, August 18. The Mountaineers enter the challenge with a record of 2-3.
