The Langston Hughes Panthers edged the host Lithia Springs Lions softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Panthers meet the Lovejoy Wildcats (Lovejoy, GA) in a 5A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, August 13. Langston Hughes will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 1-1 record after their 17-2 non-league loss to Miller Grove (Lithonia, GA).
The Lions (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against East Paulding (Dallas, GA). The Raiders enter the 5A Region 5 challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, East Paulding edged Hillgrove (Powder Springs, GA), 6-2, in a non-league challenge.
