The Washington County Golden Hawks softball squad (Sandersville, GA), was edged 6-5 in Friday's non-league contest with the host Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA)

With the triumph, Screven County improves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Gamecocks host Evans (Evans, GA) to face the Knights in a non-league contest on Friday, August 8. The Knights enter the contest with a record of 0-0.

The Golden Hawks now hold a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Johnson County for a non-league contest on Saturday, August 9. Washington County will face a Trojans squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Wheeler County (Alamo, GA). The Trojans record now stands at 0-1.
