The Newton County Academy Generals softball squad (Decatur, MS), was routed 12-3 in Saturday's non-league contest with the visiting Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS)
With the triumph, Simpson Academy improves its record to 12-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to Briarfield Academy (Lake Providence, LA) to face the Rebels in a non-league contest on Saturday, August 9. The Rebels enter the contest with a record of 3-3. Briarfield Academy lost 10-0 in their recent non-league contest against Riverfield Academy (Rayville, LA)
The Generals now hold a 2-2 record. They play next when they host Laurel Christian for a non-league contest on Thursday, August 28.
