In Thursday's non-league game, the Brazoswood Buccaneers (Clute, TX) football team smashed the host Sterling Rangers (Baytown, TX), by a final score of 77-35.

The Buccaneers (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Northbrook (Houston, TX). The Raiders come into the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Northbrook overwhelmed Aldine (Houston, TX), 27-14, in a non-league game.

The Rangers now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Barbers Hill for a 5A-1 Region II District 8 game on Friday, September 9. Sterling will battle a Eagles team coming off a 42-10 non-league win over Montgomery (Montgomery, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 1-1.
