Triad Knights (Troy, IL) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Knights confront the Civic Memorial Eagles (Bethalto, IL) in a Mississippi Valley challenge, on Saturday, September 3. Triad will attempt to better on its 2-2 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 6-0 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, IL).

The Warriors now have a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Columbia for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 7.
