Illinois High School Volleyball - Mt. Vernon can't hold off Frankfort

September 1, 2022: West Frankfort, IL 62896

In Thursday's non-league battle, the host Frankfort Redbirds volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Mt. Vernon Rams.

The Redbirds (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Massac County (Metropolis, IL). The Patriots come into the Southern Illinois River-to-River Ohio battle with a 6-2 record. In their last battle, Massac County nudged Herrin (Herrin, IL), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Rams encounter the Mattoon Greenwave (Mattoon, IL) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 3. Mt. Vernon will attempt to move on its 2-4 season record. The Greenwave come into the battle with a 1-2 record after their 2-1 league win over Charleston (Charleston, IL).
