North Carolina High School Football - Ashbrook drops to West Mecklenburg

September 1, 2023: Gastonia, NC 28054

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) and the host Ashbrook Greenwave (Gastonia, NC), observed West Mecklenburg's football squad defeat Ashbrook by a count of 30-21.

The Hawks now own a 2-1 record. They play next when they host Chambers for a 3A/4A Queen City contest on Thursday, September 14.

Coming up next, the Greenwave encounter the East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 8. Ashbrook will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 3-0 record after their 35-14 non-league win over Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC).
