In Friday's non-league game, the Cottonwood Bears (Cottonwood, AL) football team knocked off the visiting Northside Methodist Academy Knights (Dothan, AL), by a final score of 52-38.

The Bears (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Abbeville (Abbeville, AL). The Yellowjackets come into the 2A Region 2 game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, Abbeville was dropped by Headland (Headland, AL), 38-8, in a non-league game.

The Knights now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Houston County for a non-league game on Tuesday, September 5. Northside Methodist Academy will battle a Lions team coming off a 19-13 league loss to Brantley (Brantley, AL). The Lions record now stands at 0-2.
