The Wheatland Pirates (Wheatland, CA) football edged the visiting Gridley Bulldogs (Gridley, CA), 14-7 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Pirates face the Argonaut Mustangs (Jackson, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 8. Wheatland will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record. The Mustangs enter the bout with a 1-2 record after their 28-21 non-league win over Livingston (Livingston, CA).
