In Friday's league game, the Shady Spring Tigers (Shady Spring, WV) football team got by the host Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV), by a score of 28-27.

The Tigers (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Summers County (Hinton, WV). The Bobcats come into the Coalfield A game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Summers County was tipped by Greenbrier West (Charmco, WV), 42-14, in a league game.
