North Carolina High School Football - Sanderson drops to Triton

September 1, 2023: Erwin, NC 28339

In Friday's non-league game, the Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC) football team knocked off the visiting Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC), by a final score of 36-28.

The Hawks (2-1) will now prepare for their game against E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC). The Golden Bulls come into the 3A/4A All-American game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, E.E. Smith was dropped by West Carteret (Morehead City, NC), 28-0, in a non-league game.

The Spartans now hold a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cedar Ridge for a non-league game on Friday, September 8. Sanderson will battle a Fighting Red Wolves team coming off a 56-0 non-league loss to Randleman (Randleman, NC). The Fighting Red Wolves record now stands at 0-3.
