In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Apalachee Wildcats volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Elbert County Blue Devils.

The Wildcats (10-14) will now prepare for their battle against Gainesville (Gainesville, GA). The Red Elephants come into the 6A Area 8 battle with a 14-16 record. In their last battle, Gainesville lost by Habersham Central (Mt. Airy, GA), 2-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Blue Devils clash with the Commerce Tigers (Commerce, GA) in a 1A Area 8 battle, on Tuesday, September 13. Elbert County will attempt to advance on its 5-13 season record. The Tigers come into the battle with a 0-22 record after their 2-0 league loss to Prince Avenue Christian (Athens, GA).
