The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the DeSmet Bulldogs (DeSmet, SD) and the host Britton-Hecla Braves (Britton, SD), saw DeSmet's volleyball squad nip Britton-Hecla by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, DeSmet upgrades its record to 5-4 on the year. The Bulldogs host Sioux Valley (Volga, SD) to play the Cossacks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 13. The Cossacks go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Sioux Valley won 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Flandreau (Flandreau, SD)

The Braves now own a 3-6 record. They play next when they host Redfield for a A Region 1 bout on Thursday, September 15. Britton-Hecla will play a Pheasants squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Mt. Vernon/Plankinton (Mt. Vernon, SD). The Pheasants record now stands at 7-3.
