The Newman Fighting Cardinals held off the host Whitewater Whippets volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Fighting Cardinals now have a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to The Prairie School for a non-league test on Saturday, September 10. Newman will confront a Hawks team coming off a 3-2 league loss to Racine Lutheran (Racine, WI). The Hawks record now stands at 8-7.

The Whippets (12-5) will now prepare for their test against Kettle Moraine (Wales, WI). The Lasers enter the non-league test with a 5-3 record. In their last test, Kettle Moraine held off Arrowhead (Hartland, WI), 3-1, in a league test.
