Fans at Tuesday's non-league battle between the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC), saw Laney's soccer squad knock off Croatan by a count of 2-0.

The Buccaneers (7-2) will now prepare for their battle against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Trojans enter the Mideastern 3A/4A battle with a 4-3 record. In their last battle, West Brunswick by Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Cougars battle the Clinton Dark Horses (Clinton, NC) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, September 12. Croatan will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Dark Horses enter the battle with a 8-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over James Kenan (Warsaw, NC).
