Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY) boosters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV), 3-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Phelps improves its record to 3-8 on the season. The Hornets travel to East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY) to encounter the Warriors in a non-league test on Wednesday, September 11. The Warriors go into the test with a record of 6-5.

The Miners now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Tolsia for a non-league test on Tuesday, October 1.
