Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) and the visiting McClintock Chargers (Tempe, AZ), observed Independence's volleyball team hold off McClintock by a count of 2-1.

The Patriots (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Willow Canyon (Surprise, AZ). The Wildcats go into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Willow Canyon tipped Tolleson (Tolleson, AZ), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Chargers now own a 0-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fairfax for a battle on Thursday, September 25.
