The crowd at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Escondido Cougars (Escondido, CA) and the visiting Oceanside Pirates (Oceanside, CA), witnessed Escondido's flag football squad edge Oceanside by a count of 26-19.

The Cougars (3-6) will now prepare for their contest against Valley Center (Valley Center, CA). The Jaguars enter the Valley contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Valley Center was nudged by Escondido Charter (Escondido, CA), 19-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Pirates confront the Mt. Carmel Sundevils (San Diego, CA) in a Palomar contest, on Monday, September 15. Oceanside will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Sundevils enter the contest with a 4-2 record after their 43-0 non-league win over Vista (Vista, CA).
