The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 12 runs and held the host Westminster Wildcats to 3 in the Mustangs non-league win on Wednesday.

The Mustangs now sport a 14-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Francis for a 1A D-I Region 5 battle on Monday, September 15. Mount Vernon will confront a Knights team coming off a 13-10 league loss to Whitefield Academy (Mableton, GA). The Knights record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Westminster moves to 6-9 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Blessed Trinity (Roswell, GA) to meet the Titans in a 4A Region 6 challenge on Thursday, September 11. The Titans come into the outing with a record of 7-3. Blessed Trinity won 10-6 in their recent league outing against Centennial (Roswell, GA)
