In Monday's non-league contest, the Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) volleyball team toppled the visiting Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL), by a count of 2-0.

The Hiltoppers (10-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL). The Cavaliers enter the South Central challenge with a 4-3 record. In their last challenge, Carlinville was dropped by Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Explorers encounter the Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions (Centralia, IL) in a Gateway Metro challenge, on Tuesday, September 12. Marquette Catholic will attempt to move on its 4-9 season record. The Silver Stallions enter the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 2-0 league loss to Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL).
