In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Jonesboro Cardinals softball team scored a nice 24-7 win over the McDonough Warhawks.

The Cardinals (3-6) will now prepare for their match against Starr's Mill (Fayetteville, GA). The Panthers come into the 4A Region 3 match with a 7-6 record. In their last match, Starr's Mill notched a victory over Callaway (Hogansville, GA), 13-5, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Warhawks confront the Stockbridge Tigers (Stockbridge, GA) in a 4A Region 2 match, on Thursday, September 12. McDonough will attempt to better on its 2-13 season record. The Tigers come into the match with a 4-12 record after their 13-4 league win over Woodland (Stockbridge, GA).
