Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils (Grosse Pointe, MI) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Utica Chieftains (Utica, MI), 40-8 in a non-league match.

The Blue Devils (2-0) will now prepare for their match against L'Anse Creuse (Harrison Township, MI). The Lancers come into the non-league match with a 2-2 record. In their last match, L'Anse Creuse was routed by L'Anse Creuse North (Macomb, MI), 39-6, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Chieftains meet the Lakeview Huskies (St. Clair Shores, MI) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, September 17. Utica will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Huskies go into the battle with a 2-0 record after their 46-18 non-league win over Cousino (Warren, MI).
