The Excelsior Springs Tigers edged the visiting Chillicothe Hornets softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Thursday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Tigers play the Central Indians (St. Joseph, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 15. Excelsior Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 3-0 season record.
The Hornets (7-2) will now prepare for their battle against Cameron (Cameron, MO). The Dragons come into the non-league battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, Cameron nipped Auburn (Auburn, NE), 5-3, in a non-league battle.
