Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Jackson County Panthers (Jefferson, GA) and the host Rutland Hurricanes (Macon, GA), observed Jackson County's volleyball team top Rutland by a count of 2-0.

The Panthers (17-5) will now prepare for their contest against Morgan County (Madison, GA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league battle with a 16-5 record. In their last battle, Morgan County achieved victory over Clarke Central (Athens, GA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Hurricanes now own a 6-15 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jones County for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 16. Rutland will encounter a Greyhounds squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Lake Oconee Academy (Greensboro, GA). The Greyhounds record now stands at 9-11.
