In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host South Eugene Axe volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the North Eugene Highlanders.
The Axe (6-0) will now prepare for their game against North Medford (Medford, OR). The Black Tornado go into the 6A Southwest game with a 1-5 record. In their last game, North Medford gained a win over Roseburg (Roseburg, OR), 3-0, in a league game.
The Highlanders (0-4) will now prepare for their game against Churchill (Eugene, OR). The Lancers go into the 5A Midwestern game with a 3-3 record. In their last game, Churchill gained a win over Springfield (Springfield, OR), 3-0, in a league game.
