Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Phoenix Pirates (Phoenix, OR) and the visiting Yreka Miners (Yreka, CA), observed Phoenix's volleyball team hold off Yreka by a tally of 3-2.

The Pirates (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Sisters (Sisters, OR). The Outlaws enter the non-league contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Sisters got by Trinity Lutheran (Bend, OR), 3-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Miners meet the Etna Lions (Etna, CA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, September 13. Yreka will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Lions go into the test with a 9-4 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Burney (Burney, CA).
