Grainger Grizzlies (Rutledge, TN) fans were thrilled Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Volunteer Falcons (Church Hill, TN), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Grizzlies confront the Cherokee Chiefs (Rogersville, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 13. Grainger will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Chiefs enter the challenge with a 0-7 record after their 9-0 league loss to Claiborne (New Tazewell, TN).

The Falcons now have a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Elizabethton for a AA District 1 challenge on Tuesday, September 13. Volunteer will confront a Fighting Cyclones team coming off a 1-1 non-league Chuckey-Doak (Afton, TN). The Fighting Cyclones record now stands at 3-6.
