Hillcrest Hornets (Springfield, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Parkview Vikings (Springfield, MO), 18-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 3-9 record. They take the field next when they host Bolivar for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 19.

With the loss, Parkview falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Kickapoo (Springfield, MO) to battle the Chiefs in a Class 4 District 11 challenge on Thursday, September 14. The Chiefs enter the challenge with a record of 10-2. Kickapoo won 4-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Neosho (Neosho, MO)
