The Clayton Comets football squad scored 27 points and limited the visiting Holly Springs Golden Hawks to 7 in the Comets non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Comets now hold a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fuquay - Varina for a Greater Neuse River 4A test on Friday, September 20. Clayton will meet a Bengals squad coming off a 21-10 non-league loss to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC). The Bengals record now stands at 2-1.

With the defeat, Holly Springs drops to 1-2 on the campaign. The Golden hawks travel to Middle Creek (Apex, NC) to meet the Mustangs in a 4A Southeast Wake test on Friday, September 20. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 0-3. Middle Creek lost 62-55 in their recent non-league test against Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC)
