In Thursday's non-league outing, the visiting Winona Winhawks soccer squad scored a tight 6-3 victory over the Faribault Falcons.

The Winhawks (3-1) will now prepare for their match against Kasson-Mantorville (Kasson, MN). The Komets come into the non-league match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Kasson-Mantorville nipped Red Wing (Red Wing, MN), 3-1, in a league match.

The Falcons now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mankato East for a Class A Section 2 match on Tuesday, September 17. Faribault will meet a Cougars team coming off a 3-2 league loss to Mankato West (Mankato, MN). The Cougars record now stands at 5-2.
